Teen rescued after he fell and hit his head in Provo Canyon

A 17-year-old boy was rescued from Provo Canyon on Wednesday night after he fell near Bridal Veil Falls, according to the Utah County Sheriff’s Office.

The teenager and his friends had left the trail when he “lost his footing” and “smacked his head on a rock,” Kesil Vega, who witnessed the accident. told FOX13. The boy was transported by a medical helicopter to a local hospital with a head injury, which police said was not serious.

According to Sgt. Spencer Cannon of the Utah County Sheriff’s Office, the teens did not have the proper equipment to be hiking in the rough terrain off the trail.
