A 19-year-old Mormon missionary from Payson died of unknown causes Friday night in Wisconsin.
"We are saddened to share news of the death of one of our young missionaries. Elder Jeremy McCauley died during the night from unknown causes," a Saturday statement from the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints said.
McCauley had served since November in the Wisconsin Milwaukee Mission, officials said.
"We mourn with his family and loved ones and pray that they may be comforted as they deal with this tragic loss," the statement said.
A church spokesman said Saturday afternoon further details were not available about the circumstances of McCauley's death.
