The kids didn't need a dramatic comeback. Not this time.

The U.S. U-20 national team moved to the top of Group F with its 1-0 victory over Senegal in Incheon, South Korea, on Thursday. The Americans are now 1-0-1 in group play as they prepare to face Saudi Arabia on Sunday. A win Sunday guarantees the top spot in the group, while a draw cements advancement to the knockout round, as well.

And once again leading the charge was 17-year-old forward Josh Sargent, whose 34th-minute goal was all the U.S. needed to wrap up its first win at the U-20 World Cup. Sargent trapped a pass into the box from midfielder Luca de la Torre, spun away fro his defender and hit a quick left-footed shot that zipped into the back of the net.

For the second straight game, RSL academy products Brooks Lennon, Danny Acosta and Aaron Herrera started and went 90 minutes. As the Americans looked to bunker down and protect their late 1-0 lead, U.S. coach Tab Ramos put on RSL defender Justen Glad in the 84th minute.

Glad's substitution was his first action since suffering a knee injury in the 2017 CONCACAF Championship final in Costa Rica in early March.
