Saturday was a good day for former BYU running back Jamaal Williams, but overall the Cougars had to endure another disappointing NFL draft.

With Williams the only Cougar to hear his name called over the weekend, BYU has now gone eight years without having more than one player drafted in the regular draft.

However, a hefty number of BYU players — eight, so far — will receive NFL opportunities as undrafted free agents and/or mini-camp invitees.

Most notably, quarterback Taysom Hill will join Williams in Green Bay, Wis., with the Packers after signing a free agent contract Saturday night with Hall of Fame-bound QB Aaron Rodgers' club.

Linebacker Harvey Langi was said to have the best chance of getting drafted, outside of Williams, but seven rounds came and went Thursday-through-Saturday without Langi's name being called. Moments after the draft, Langi inked a deal with the New England Patriots.

Also, BYU defensive end Sae Tautu signed with the New Orleans Saints, running back Algernon Brown signed with the Seattle Seahawks, cornerback Michael Davis signed with the Los Angeles Chargers and safety Kai Nacua signed with the Cleveland Browns.

Offensive lineman Andrew Eide accepted a minicamp invite with the San Francisco 49ers and wide receiver Nick Kurtz accepted a minicamp invite from the Oakland Raiders.
