Police responded Wednesday afternoon to a report of shots fired at a Salt Lake City home.

A man apparently approached two people at their house, near 1000 South and 440 East, about 12:30 p.m., said SLCPD Detective Greg Wilking.

He had "some kind of mental health issue" and fired a gun at least once, Wilking said. He said no one was hurt, although at least one man was treated in an ambulance for shock.

The man who fired the shot was taken into custody at about 1 p.m.

"It turned out to be not as much as we thought," Wilking said. "Thankfully it wasn't as bad as it sounded."
