After staggering their way into the MLS playoffs, Real Salt Lake faces a must-win situation tonight — either win on the road against the Los Angeles Galaxy or the season is over.

Things have gone almost as badly as possible since August. It's two months to the day since the Claret and Cobalt last won a game, and the team is on an eight-game winless streak — four losses and three ties.

And since a 3-3 tie at home against the Galaxy on Sept. 7, RSL has scored a grand total of two goals in seven games.

They managed to hold onto the sixth place and the final playoff spot in the Western Conference, but the first round of the MLS playoffs is one game only. So it's win and go on or lose and go home.

• Also tonight, it's Game 2 of the World Series (5:30 p.m., Fox/Ch. 13) in Cleveland. The Indians took a 1-0 over the Chicago Cubs with a 6-0 win on Monday.
