A man is dead after crashing his car into a traffic-light pole in Logan on Tuesday night.

Officers were dispatched just before 8:30 p.m. to the crash site, at the intersection of 1400 North and 1000 West, said Logan police Capt. Curtis Hooley.

The man, identified as Ryan J. Udy, 33, had been driving south on 1000 West when his car veered to the right side of the road as it approached 1400 North. His car struck the pole, and he was found unresponsive, pinned inside the car.

Paramedics attempted life-saving measures as they extricated him, Hooley said, but Udy died at the scene.

The cause of the crash was under investigation.
