Shows like "This Is Us" (8 p.m., NBC/Ch. 5) kind of worry me — I loved the pilot episode so much, I worried that the series couldn't possibly live up to that level of quality.

So far … not a problem.

In tonight's episode, Rebecca and Jake take the kids to a community pool; Kevin auditions for a Broadway play; Toby runs into his ex-wife while on a date with Kate; and William is reported as a loiterer in Randall's predominantly white neighborhood.
