Utah State will play a home-and-home football series with Washington State, athletic director John Hartwell announced Tuesday.

The Aggies will host the Cougars on Sept. 5, 2020. They will play in Pullman on Sept. 4, 2021.

For Utah State, the series is the first home-and-home with a Power 5 schools since a series with Oregon State in 1997 and 1998.

"These are the kind of home-and-home series we are looking for moving forward," said Hartwell. "Hosting a Pac-12 school in Maverik Stadium is a direct reflection of the strides our football program has made in recent years."

The Washington State game in 2020 will mark the fifth time in school history that a Pac-12 school has visited Utah State. In their last home game against a Pac-12 opponent, the Aggies scored a 27-20 overtime win over Utah in 2012.

Washington State will also be the first Power 5 opponent to visit Logan since the Aggies defeated Atlantic Coast Conference member Wake Forest, 36-24, in 2014.

Utah State is 1-2 all-time against Washington State. The schools have not played since 1961.
