A suspect who Cedar City police consider armed and dangerous is being sought in connection with a homicide early Sunday morning.

Just after 6:30 a.m., officers responded to a shots-fired call near the area of 500 North and 400 West.

When they arrived, they found a deceased 34-year-old male victim inside a residence. The victim's name has not yet been released.

According to Cedar City Police Sgt. Jerry Womack, the suspect is Mark Mair, a 27-year-old white man who is still at large.

Mair is believed to have left the area. He was in possession of a handgun and is also believed to be in possession of an SKS rifle and sawed-off shotgun.

Mair is described as 5 foot 7 with a stocky build. He has short brown hair, a patchy beard on his chin and a Playboy bunny tattooed on the left side of his neck.

He was a passenger in a tan or gold-colored car, possibly an early 2000 Ford Taurus. The car was being driven by a slender female with what police describe as "dishwater blonde hair." Her name is currently unknown.

Cedar City police are asking the public to contact them if anyone has any information regarding this case at (435) 586-2956.
