Ex-Utah State point guard Funda Nakkasoglu, who announced she was transferring in April, has ended up at Florida.

Nakkasoglu must sit out next season, according to NCAA rules. She will have two years of eligibility remaining for the Gators, starting in 2017-18.

A native of Australia, Nakkasoglu averaged 20.8 points for Utah State last season. She led the Mountain West Conference in scoring and finished 21st in the country. In 2015-16, she was named the Mountain West Freshman of the Year.

In a statement released by Utah State when Nakkasoglu announced her transfer, she said, "It has been a hard decision, weighing all the factors. In the end, I decided to test myself in a different setting."

Florida finished 22-9 last season, including 10-6 on the Southeast Conference. The Gators lost to Albany, 61-59, in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
