A series of crashes on a Salt Lake City stretch of Interstate 80 slowed commuters to a crawl Tuesday morning, but caused no serious injuries.

Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Todd Royce said the first of the crashes between 700 East and State Street on westbound I-80, a two-vehicle accident, occurred at 8:20 a.m. In the minutes following, three more fender-bender collisions occurred. One driver was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

It took about an hour to clear the scene, with the on-ramp from I-80 to State Street closed during the time.
