"Mike & Molly" (7 p.m., CBS/Ch. 2) returns tonight to begin its final run. Seven more episodes and it's over — canceled by CBS after six seasons and 127 episodes.

There has been considerable speculation that star Melissa McCarthy wanted out because of her burgeoning film career. But she has insisted that is not true.

When the cancellation was announced, McCarthy tweeted: "I was shocked and heartbroken when @CBS canceled #MikeAndMolly. I would have shot this show for 50 more years. I'll miss my 2nd family."

What's the truth? I don't know. But we do know that the finale is scheduled to air on Monday, May 16.

In tonight's episode, Mike brings home a stray dog.
