The 13th annual St. George Winter Bird Festival is scheduled Thursday, Friday and Saturday and will include field trips, children's activities, presentations by experts, a silent auction and a bird photo contest.

The event is based at the Tonaquint Park and Nature Center at 1851 S. Dixie Drive in St. George.

Cost is $10 for individuals or $15 for couples for a three-day general admission pass. It is free for children 17 and under. Some activities including Saturday night's $20 banquet require pre-registration.

Presentations include a Thursday talk by Rick Fridell on the Wintering Birds of Washington County and a Friday evening talk about the Biodiversity of Washington County by Marshall Topham. Cordell Peterson will lead owl prowls Thursday and Friday.

Author and photographer Kate Davis will speak on Raptor Education in the West at Saturday's banquet.
