Two football players — one junior college transfer and one from the high school ranks — have recently committed to Utah State.

Ron'quavion Tarver, a 6-foot-5, 215-pound receiver from Fort Scott (Kan.) Community College, announced on Twitter he plans to become an Aggie.

"It's been a long journey," Tarver wrote, "but it don't stop here. Blessed to say I will be attending Utah State University this fall."

Tarver caught 44 passes for 508 yards and three touchdowns in 10 games last season. In high school in Belle Glade, Fla., he also participated in basketball and track.

Also, Herriman High School offensive tackle Ty Shaw has announced plans to attend Utah State and play for coach Matt Wells.

"Thank You @CoachWellsUSUFB for the offer!" Shaw wrote on Twitter over the weekend. "Proud to call myself Utah State's newest Aggie!"

Shaw is 6-5 and weights 285 pounds. He originally committed to Southern Utah on Dec. 22, but Thunderbird head coach Ed Lamb left four days later to join the new staff at BYU. It is not known whether Lamb's departure had anything to do with Shaw's decision to de-commit and turn to Utah State.
