A real-life hero is joining the "Dancing With the Stars: Live!" tour.

Alek Skarlatos, who placed third in Tuesday night's season 21 finale, will be joining his pro partner, Provo native Lindsay Arnold, on the tour, which begins on Tuesday, Dec. 15, at the Maverik Center, 3200 S. Decker Lake Drive, West Valley City.

Skarlatos became instantly famous in August, as one of three friends who overpowered a gunman who had opened fire on a train from Amsterdam to Paris. Skarlatos, an Army National Guard Specialist, was awarded the United States Army Soldier's Medal by President Barack Obama, and the Legion of Honour, France's highest decoration, by French President François Hollande.

Other pro dancers performing on the tour are: Alan Bersten, Sharna Burgess, Brittany Cherry, Artem Chigvintsev, Valentin Chmerkovskiy, Jenna Johnson, Keo Motsepe, Peta Murgatroyd and Emma Slater.

Tickets for the Maverik Center show — priced from $39.50 to $89.50 — are on sale at Smith's Tix.
