A Utah man is recovering in a local hospital after being stabbed outside a downtown Salt Lake City bar.

The 35-year-old man was drinking at Johnny's On Second, 165 E. 200 South, when he got into an argument with another patron just before 2 a.m. Tuesday, Salt Lake City police Lt. Mike Ross said t

Bar staff asked the men to leave, but their argument continued outside. The dispute ended when one man stabbed the other.

The victim, who has not been identified, suffered a single stab wound to the lower torso, Ross said.

He was transported to University of Utah Hospital in serious condition and is expected to make a full recovery, Ross said.

An investigation is ongoing, he said.
