Florida's 5A playoff quarterfinal between Hallandale and Bishop Moore holds a peculiar interest for many in the Beehive State: As Hallandale's offense goes, so, one day, might Utah's.

Monday saw former Miami commit Zack Moss become the third Hallandale senior to commit to Utah, joining quarterback Tyler Huntley and wide receiver Demari Simpkins.

Moss said he decided he wanted to leave the state and is excited by the chance to continue playing with Huntley and Simpkins — he's known the latter for about five years — but was most drawn to the chance to play early.

"I felt like the offense suits me perfectly," he said, an admirer of Utah's usage of Devontae Booker in back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons. His primary recruiter was Utah running backs coach and championship-winning Miami head coach Dennis Erickson.

He hopes to visit Utah sometime in December, after Hallandale has finished its playoff run. Simpkins and Huntley visited with their coach in September and passed along good reports.

He plans to study communications at the U.

Moss is rated three stars by both Rivals and Scout. Watch his highlights here.

Here is a full list of committed players that The Tribune has reported on. Utah and Texas WR/CB Jay Griffin and Texas DT Lorenzo Neal, both former commits, went their separate ways.
