This week's Utah Crowd-Funding Project tries to bring punk to the masses.

By day, Isaiah Miller works as an I.T. guy at a resort company in Park City. In his of hours, though, Miller is a guitarist in a local band, and the leading light behind Punk on Estrogen, a fledgling record label for Salt Lake City-area punk, hardcore and emo bands.

"In the heart of Salt Lake City lies an underground punk scene that is alive and flourishing," Miller writes. "Boasting numerous skramz, emo, hardcore, and folk punk bands with talented musicians and writers."

Bringing those bands to the public's attention isn't cheap, so Punk on Estrogen has launched a crowd-funding campaign via Kickstarter to raise $7,500 for provide recording space for the label's acts.

So far, the campaign has raised $101 in pledges. The deadline is Nov. 16.

Benefits for backers range from a signed CD by a P.O.E. artist (for $25) to a signed vinyl LP and a hand-written personalized haiku (for $175).
