Sometimes kids seem like zombies when they spend hours in front of their television sets playing video games.

Seventeen-year-old twin brothers A.J. and Jace Garcia are trying to get those kids outdoors by sponsoring Zombie Fishing Day Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Farmington Pond in Davis County.

The idea behind the free event for kids 17 and under is to get kids off the couch and into the outdoors. They want participants to donate old video games that are donated to Primary Children's Hospital in exchange for a chance to win outdoor gear and prizes.

Participants are encouraged to come dressed as zombies. The Utah Division of Wildlife Resources will stock the pond with catchable rainbow trout before the event and have gear and volunteers on hand to help kids fish.

Other parts of the event include a prize drawing and face painting.
