A 10-month-old girl drowned in a bathtub at a home in the Utah County town of Eagle Mountain on Thursday.

Investigators identified the girl as Magnolia Anderson.

Utah County sheriff's Sgt. Spencer Cannon said deputies were called to the residence, on Blue Sky Drive, at 12:04 p.m. The deputies, soon joined by paramedics, tried to revive the girl for 45 minutes without success.

"[Magnolia's] mother told investigators she had taken Magnolia to the bathtub because of a diaper change that needed a little more attention than usual," according to a sheriff's office news release. The mother did not turn on the faucet and left to attend to other children, and when she returned, "possibly 10 minutes or so later," the tub had filled with water and Magnolia was not breathing, the release adds.

The mother called 911 and initiated CPR.

The investigation into Magnolia's death is ongoing. Investigators are not sure how the water in the tub turned on.
