This week's Utah Crowd-Funding Project gives your phone a place to rest.

Sean Kennedy of Forge, a design company in American Fork, is developing Tilt, a desk stand for smartphones and tablets. The blocky crescent shape allows a device to rest at an easy-to-see angle, then tilt back when the owner uses the touchpad.

The company has devised the prototype, figured out production logistics, and secured suppliers. To start production, Forge needs start-up money — and the company has launched a crowd-funding campaign on Kickstarter to make that happen.

The Kickstarter campaign seeks $50,000. So far, the campaign has raised $5,716. The deadline is Sept. 13.

Benefits for backers range from a single phone stand (for $30) to a four-pack (for $100).
