The exposure of Utah high school football has skyrocketed over the past decade for a multitude of reasons one of which is the performance of local programs against out-of-state opponents. The next opportunity to measure Utah's competitiveness on a national scale is this Friday, when East, the fourth-ranked program in the state, travels to play Centennial (Calif.) a consensus top 10 program in the country.
Speaking of being recognized nationally: Bingham is now ranked No. 6 in USA Today's Computer rankings. The Miners, who play Herriman on Friday, defeated Westlake 38-0 in the opening week. Bishop Gorman (Nev.), which will play at Bingham on Sept. 4, checked in at No. 5 in the same poll.
