In a couple weeks, Derrick Favors will officially become Dad to twin girls. On Monday, the Utah Jazz power forward got a little extra parenting practice as he hosted about 25 Boys & Girls Club kids at the team's practice facility.

"It was just something I wanted to do just to give back to the community, make sure the kids have everything they need to go back to school," said Favors, who supplied backpacks filled with notebooks, pencils, folders and other school supplies to all the children.

Favors hosted a similar event last year and another one earlier this summer in his hometown of Atlanta.

"It's a big deal for me. I love to see the smiles on kids' faces," he said. "By me giving back to the community, hopefully I can touch one of these kids and hopefully when they can get older they can give back to the community the same way I did."

"I'm a big kid myself," Favors added. "So just being able to hang out with the kids, play games on the court, sit down and eat lunch with them, that's a big deal for me."
