Marvel's mightiest heroes are coming to Salt Lake City next year — and tickets go on sale next week.

The live arena show "Marvel Universe LIVE!" will storm into EnergySolutions Arena, 301 W. South Temple, Salt Lake City, for seven shows over four days — Thursday, Feb. 11, through Sunday, Feb. 14.

Feld Entertainment — the producer of such touring shows as Disney on Ice and the Ringling Bros. Barnum & Bailey Circus — touts the 85-city tour as "the most ambitious live show in its history."

The live show brings together more than 25 Marvel characters, on an epic quest for the Cosmic Cube, the source of ultimate power. Thor has shattered the cube and scattered the pieces around Earth. Loki, Thor's evil brother, hatches a scheme to clone the cube's power — a plot that could destroy the universe.

The heroes who team up to face this challenge include The Avengers — Iron Man, Captain America, The Hulk and Thor — along with Spider-Man and Wolverine. They will face such villains as Green Goblin, Dr. Octopus, Red Skull, Madame Hydra, Aldrich Killian and Electro.

Producers say the show will feature innovative set design, aerial stunts, pyrotechnics and other state-of-the-art elements "that bring movie style special effects to the live entertainment arena."

Tickets go on sale Wednesday, July 15, at Smith's Tix outlets. Tickets range from $25 to $75, with discount kids' tickets (ages 2 to 12) for $15, and special opening-night tickets for $20 each (some restrictions apply).
