A 6-foot-8 forward out of Butler University, Hayward experienced his breakout season in 2014-2015. He started 76 games, he averaged 19 points per game and became just the third player in NBA history to improve his scoring average by at least two points per night in four consecutive seasons.

Hayward missed most of his six games towards the end of the season, when coach Quin Snyder shut him down for most of the final week. For most of the year, he carried Utah offensively, along Derrick Favors.
