A woman was found stabbed to death in her Brigham City apartment Wednesday after her ex-husband called police to report he had killed her.

Spencer Gerlach, 20, called police about 12:30 p.m. Wednesday and said he had killed his wife, said Brigham City police Lt. Dennis Vincent.

Officers went to an apartment near 700 South and 600 East to find that 19-year-old Keltsie Gerlach had apparently been stabbed to death while a 15-month-old girl slept in a crib in another room, Vincent said.

Spencer Gerlach was booked into jail on suspicion of first-degree felony murder.

Keltsie and Spencer Gerlach had been divorced "for a short time," Vincent said.

Gerlach did not immediately disclose a motive for killing his ex-wife.
