Up-and-coming Provo indie rock band Fictionist has been given a choice performance opportunity: Opening for Neon Trees, a fellow Provo band that's made it big.

Fictionist will be one of two opening acts — the other being COIN, a Nashville band — when Neon Trees tours on the East Coast in July.

Tour stops are: Fort Lauderdale, Orlando and St. Petersburg, Fla.; Atlanta; Nashville; Columbus and Cleveland, Ohio; Baltimore, Washington, Philadelphia, New York and Boston.

No word on whether the Neon Trees tour will wind its way back to Utah. But if you're eager to see Fictionist this summer, the band will play the Utah Arts Festival's opening night, June 25.
