A rollover crash brought the Tuesday morning commute along the Utah-Salt Lake County border to a halt.

The accident, initially feared to involve multiple vehicles and injuries, occurred about 6:30 a.m. in the northbound lanes of Interstate 15, near the Point of the Mountain.

Utah Highway Patrol troopers and medical personnel were rushed to the scene, where all four lanes of northbound I-15 were closed near 146th South.

However, Utah Department of Public Safety spokesman Dwayne Baird said troopers discovered only one vehicle, a passenger car, was involved and no serious injuries occurred.

The two occupants of the car, which landed on its top, refused medical care at the scene.

Investigation into the crash was just beginning.

Because the crash occurred in an area without significant shoulder space, northbound traffic quickly backed up.

"It was a parking lot. There were headlights all the way back to Lehi," Baird said.

UHP had the scene cleared of wreckage by 8 a.m., and the flow of traffic gradually returned to normal.
