A Unified Police SWAT team has arrested two suspects in last weekend's alleged gang-related shooting in Millcreek, but two others remained at large Tuesday.

UPD Lt. Justin Hoyal said a 20-year-old man and a purported 15-year-old male accomplice were taken into custody about 10:30 p.m. Monday when officers, having been issued a warrant, raided a home at 3676 W. Bawden Ave. (about 4150 South) in West Valley City.

Two other Latino males, ages 16 to 20, were being sought in connection with the same shooting incident that left a 15-year-old black youth in serious condition as of Tuesday.

UPD said that the group of four Latinos were being followed by the victim and two other black youths about 8:30 p.m. last Saturday near 4000 South and 300 East when one of the Latinos pulled a handgun, turned and opened fire.

Detectives following up on tips were able to identify the 20-year-old man as the alleged shooter, and tracked him to the West Valley City home. Following his arrest and questioning, he was booked into the Salt Lake County jail on suspicion of first-degree felony attempted homicide.

The 15-year-old also arrested Monday night was booked into the Salt Lake Valley Detention Center on suspicion of third-degree felony rioting.

Hoyal asked that anyone with information on the shooting, and especially the whereabouts of the two remaining suspects, call UPD at 385-468-9812.
