Jerry Parker, who coached South Summit to the last two Class 2A state football championship, is retiring.

Long-time Wildcat assistant Aaron Tillett has been named as Parker's replacement.

The likeable Parker coached his team to 11-1 seasons the past two years. He began coaching at the Kamas school in 2005.

The 2014 season saw South Summit dominate 2A competition. The Wildcats' only loss came to Class 3A Morgan. In three state tournament games, they outscored their opponents 123-20. South Summit defeated Summit Academy 28-6 in the state title game in Cedar City.

Five Wildcats were selected as first-team all-staters this season while defensive back Bracken Santos was an All-Tribune team member.
