Stockton to McLemore doesn't quite have the same ring to it.

But the son of the legendary Utah Jazz point guard is getting his first shot at the NBA, as the Sacramento Kings on Friday announced they have signed David Stockton to a 10-day contract.

The younger Stockton was averaging 16.6 points and 7.9 assists per game for the Reno Bighorns, Sacramento's D-League affiliate, this season. When he received his call up, Stockton ranked fourth in assists per game.

The Kings need help at the point guard spot with starter Darren Collison banged up, and the veteran Andre Miller still making his way West after a deadline deal sent him to the Kings from Washington.

Stockton will wear No. 9, according to the Kings.
