A Utah man pleaded guilty Wednesday in Louisiana to charges in a 15-year-old child sex abuse case.

Matthew Todd Wallis, a 30-year-old South Ogden man, was arrested last August on suspicion of sexually abusing a 4- to 5-year-old girl between 1999-2000 when he was between the ages of 15 and 16.

On Tuesday, Wallis pleaded guilty to oral sexual battery, according to a press release from the Plaquemines Parish Sheriff's Office. He faces a maximum of five years in prison when sentenced on March 25.

Police in Louisiana began an investigation last May after the victim, a relative, told investigators that Wallis forced her to perform oral sex on him and he performed oral sex on her several times between 1990-2000 at a home in Bell Chasse, Louisiana.

Wallis was arrested in Utah last August and extradited to Louisiana to face charges of incest and oral sexual battery.

Becnel said he wasn't sure how long Wallis had been living in Utah, but said the defendant owns a computer consulting business in the South Ogden area.

Authorities in both Louisiana and South Ogden are seeking information from anyone else who may have been a victimized by Wallis.

Plaquemines Parish Sheriff's Detective Aaron Verrette can be reached at 504-564-2525, and the South Ogden police can be reached at 801-629-8221.

Crimestoppers is offering a reward up to $2,500 for information, according to Plaquemines Parish Sheriff's Office.
