Back off, pal. I have a set of teeth — and I know how to use 'em.

Salt Lake City police say they are looking for a suspected transient who not only displayed an affinity for sports apparel, but a healthy set of choppers while shoplifting from the downtown Gateway mall's FANZZ store Monday night.

Detectives say the suspect was caught stuffing clothing inside his coat. He fled the store, but was confronted just outside by a FANZZ clerk about 8:30 p.m.

That's when the suspect bit the employee on the forearm and then brandished a pair of pliers before running into the night toward a nearby homeless shelter.

The clerk was treated at the scene for the bite.

Police were reviewing security camera footage to get a description of the suspect.
