The Aggies finished the first day of the Midyear JC signing period by signing five players in Dallin Leavitt, Devante Mays, Jude Hockel, Christopher 'Unga and Preston Brooksby.

Leavitt is a 5-foot-11 defensive back who is transferring from BYU so he will sit out the 2015 season per NCAA rules. Leavitt played in 11 games for the Cougars and finished with 43 tackles and 3.5 tackles for loss.

Brooksby is an offensive lineman from Glendale CC who committed earlier this week and Devante Mays is a 5-foot-11, 225-pound running back out of Blinn College.

Hockel is an offensive lineman out of Diablo Valley College in Pleasant Hill Calif., and 'Unga, a 6-1, 280-pound defensive lineman, originally signed with the Aggies as part of the 2014 class.

Hockel said he can't wait to join the Aggies.

"The coaching staff, the community, everything is great there," he said. "It's just a great fit overall for me."

The early signing period lasts until Jan. 15. The regular signing period is Feb. 4-April 1.
