Preston Brooksby, an offensive lineman at Glendale Community College, was tempted to pursue his college career at the University of Texas at San Antonio, but in the end family ties and a good relationship with the Utah State Aggies won him over.

Brooskby, a 6-foot-2, 290-pound lineman, committed to the Aggies Monday. He follows in the footsteps of his grandfather, David Ashton, who was a defensive lineman for the Aggies in the 1950s.

"I still have a lot of family in the area and with my grandfather playing for them, this is a dream come true," he said.

Brooksby said he plans to enroll in the spring so he can participate in spring ball.

"I am excited," Brooksby said. "They are moving in the right direction with a lot of key players coming back."
