GOP offers plan to fight Obama immigration orders, avoid shutdown. Utah Republicans file suit over County My Vote deal. Protests erupt after Ferguson grand jury decision.

Happy Tuesday. House Republican leaders have come up with a plan that will a) satisfy their conservative base by offering short-term funding for immigration enforcement and b) avoid a government shutdown in less than a month. The idea, meant to codify those angry with President Barack Obama's immigration orders, would still allow the GOP to limit the president's actions without leading to a fight over the rest of the federal budget, which currently expires in early December.
