Unified Police on Friday identified a motorcyclist killed when he slammed into a tree as 50-year-old Louis Quigley of Kearns.
UPD Lt. Justin Hoyal said witnesses told officers that Quigley, who was not wearing a helmet, was riding at high speed about 6:30 p.m. Thursday when he failed to negotiate a curve at 5700 South Trowbridge Way (5600 West), crossed into the oncoming lane of travel and then hit the tree.
Quigley died at the scene.
No other vehicles were involved.
