Thousands of community volunteers are expected to join Comcast employees and their families Saturday to spruce up 11 Utah parks, schools and housing for the homeless.

An estimated 700 volunteers will be working at The Road Home's main shelter in Salt Lake City and various housing sites, including Palmer Court Apartments, from 8 a.m. to noon.

Nationally, more than 80,000 community and Comcast volunteers will participate in the annual day of service, one of the nation's largest, single-day corporate volunteer efforts.
