Posted: 8:11 AM- A 14-year-old girl drowned in Bear Lake on Tuesday night.
Police say Mallory Parsons of Tigard, Ore., was swimming in Ideal Beach in Garden City when she went underwater around 4:14 p.m.
Family members told police the teen was swimming near a family's raft when she went underwater and failed to resurface. Parsons' cousins alerted other swimmers who in turn contacted authorities.
Parsons was found in 8 feet of water around 4:30 p.m. Efforts to revive her were unsuccessful.
Parsons was transported to the Logan Regional Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
