St. George police arrest man with gun at airport

Posted: 7:19 AM- ST. GEORGE - Police here arrested a man after he was found in possession of a handgun in a restricted airport area.

The Spectrum reports today that the 28-year-old man was taken into custody Wednesday at St. George Municipal Airport.

St. George Police Sgt. James Van Fleet said the man was found with a ,32 caliber handgun with a full magazine; he also allegedly had razors in his bag.

The man claimed he did not know the gun and razors were in the bag he was carrying.

The man was booked into jail on suspicion of possessing a weapon in an airport, possession of a concealed weapon and possession of a loaded weapon.

Bail was set at $4,287.
