Posted: 12:22 PM- A man who went door to door through a Salt Lake City neighborhood asking residents if they had "ordered him on eBay" fled from police on a bicycle, then rammed into a tree and flipped onto the ground before being taken into custody Thursday.

Salt Lake City police responded to reports from residents in a neighborhood at 800 South and Roberta Street at about 8 p.m., according to a news release from the Salt Lake City Police Department.

When officers arrived in the neighborhood, they stopped a 39-year-old man riding a bike. The man rode off as officers talked to him, hitting a tree and falling from the bike a short distance away, the release states.

The man, who police said was "dazed and confused," tried to run but was caught quickly by an officer. Police discovered the bicycle he was riding was listed as stolen, the release states.

The man was booked into the Salt Lake County jail on suspicion of possession of stolen property, a third-degree felony; failing to stop at the command of a police officer, a third-degree felony; and public intoxication, a misdemeanor.
