Posted: 8:51 AM- OGDEN -- Weber State University is the recipient of a $1 million donation to support students aiming for careers in health care professions.

The money comes from the Dr. Ezekiel R. and Edna Wattis Dumke Foundation. Dumke was a prominent Ogden physician and the Weber State's college of health care professions is also named for him.

WSU Development Director Robb Alexander says half of the foundation's gift will fund an endowment and annually award 10 scholarships worth $20,000.

Alexander says the remaining $500,000 will underwrite construction of the Hurst Lifelong Learning Center on WSU's campus.
