A man who was harassing a woman at her apartment allegedly boasted he was carrying seven knives before trying to stab her and her building manager with a butter knife.
In court documents filed Tuesday, police wrote that the woman was trying to call police during the Aug. 22 assault, when the man knocked the phone out of her hand with his butter knife. The building manager and the woman managed to get the man out of the apartment, near 300 East and Crimson Circle in Salt Lake City, but the man broke the door and re-entered the apartment. He tried to stab them again before leaving, police wrote. The man, 19, of Woods Cross, faces two third-degree felony counts of aggravated assault and misdemeanor charges of criminal mischief and interruption of a communication device. - Erin Alberty
