Salt Lake County Democrats are looking for a new leader.
One week before the county convention, party bosses are seeking a successor for outgoing chairman, Christian Burridge, who resigned Thursday at the urging of his executive committee.
Committee member Ellen Birrell said the young attorney - who recently accepted a job at Siegfried & Jensen - didn't have the time to effectively lead the party.
The party will take names of potential replacements until 5:30 p.m. Friday. The Democratic Central Committee then will select a chairman or chairwoman at 1:30 p.m. the following day during the county convention at Jordan High School, 95 E. Beetdigger Blvd. (9880 South) in Sandy.
