A Hurricane police officer was arrested Saturday, accused of forcing a woman to perform sex acts on him while he was on duty a day earlier.
Officer Nathan Amosa, 24, was booked into Washington County jail on suspicion of forcible sodomy, a first-degree felony, and two counts of forcible sexual abuse, a second-degree felony. He posted $30,000 bond, according to the jail.
Hurricane police did not say how Amosa initially came into contact with the woman he is accused of assaulting or detail the allegations against him. The department referred the case to Washington County sheriff's investigators after the woman notified Hurricane police on Friday, according to department spokesman Ken Perkins.
Amosa remains on routine administrative leave pending an internal investigating, Perkins said.
