A man found his mother dead under what police describe as suspicious circumstances this morning in a West Valley City apartment complex.
Damiana Castillo, 57, was found in her apartment about 10 a.m. when her 32-year-old son came to visit her at the Scottsdale Apartments, 4000 S. Redwood Rd., police said. Injuries were evident on her body, but police would not specify what they were or how they may have occured. There was no sign of forced entry into the apartment, police said.
Police were investigating Castillo's death as a homicide, but detectives had not yet determined for certain whether foul play was involved.
