If there was any doubt, it's now official: The Utah House of Representatives supports keeping "under God" in the Pledge of Allegiance.

The House voted 58-5 in favor of a resolution sponsored by Rep. Kerry Gibson, R-Ogden, that reaffirms the state's commitment to "under God" from those who would want it stripped from the Pledge.

"Recently, what we've seen is these words have come under attack, both in public bodies like this and in the court system," said Gibson.

In 2004, the U.S. Supreme Court unanimously rejected a challenge by a California atheist father, who argued that repeating the phrase in school deprived him of the right to teach his daughter as he saw fit.

Five Democrats voted against the measure. It now goes to the Senate.
