Posted: 8:32 AM- The victim in a weekend snowmobiling crash has been identified as 22-year-old Madelaine Ranches, of Walnut, Calif.

Ranches was traveling Saturday with a guided tour group in Snake Creek Canyon, about a mile west of Wasatch Mountain State Park, according to park authorities.

At about 2 p.m., Ranches lost control of her vehicle, fell onto the trail and was struck by another snowmobile in the group. The victim, who was wearing a helmet at the time, died at the scene.

Authorities have not decided whether to seek charges, said Deena Loyola, spokeswoman for the Utah Division of Parks and Recreation.
