West Valley City Manager Wayne Pyle has appointed two employees to serve as his deputies.
Nicole Cottle, a city attorney, and Layne Morris, the city's housing administrator, have picked up the title "deputy city manager" in addition to their current jobs.
"This appointment will not change the duties of these employees' current positions," Pyle said in a statement.
"This will, however, give them line authority in certain situations and when asked to oversee specific projects."
Cottle serves as West Valley City's legislative liaison, and Morris represents the city at the Salt Lake Valley Emergency Communications Center (VECC).
Paul Isaac remains assistant city manager.
